When declaring war, the first rule is to make sure you have a clear target. Is TikTok killing Snapchat? No one can say for sure, but the signs are there that TikTok is slowly but surely taking Snapchat’s crown as the most popular mobile messaging app. For starters, look at the numbers: TikTok has over 200 million monthly active users, while Snapchat, with its closest rival Instagram Stories, has just 100 million users. That means TikTok is growing at a faster rate than Snapchat.

Nowadays, social media platforms crash and burn faster than usual. The reasons for this are numerous though the main one being that users are not investing enough time and effort into the app or service. When users are not invested in the platform, the platform is not going to be as effective as it should be. Most apps that use geolocation take a lot of time to load on smartphones, and that includes Snapchat. TikTok is a new app that allows you to create and share images that disappear in 15 seconds or less, and the results are pretty interesting.

We here at “Is TikTok killing Snapchat?” are of the belief that the young and the social media savvy will reach a turning point in the coming years and begin turning away from the social media world they have grown up in. We believe that more and more, they will be using their phones as both a tool and a break from the virtual world they are in. We believe that though there will be some who will still remain loyal users of social media, as they have always been, they will become fewer and fewer as time moves on.

One of the most well-known apps on the market already, TikTok, is making its entrance to Snapchat. Users of the messaging app will be able to send different types of content through TikTok stickers, like drawing or taking a selfie. TikTok will then be used to place these messages into a Snapchat Story and to share them with their friends. While users will still be able to send pictures, videos, and texts directly through TikTok, the Stories feature will make it a lot easier to engage with others within the app and integrate it into Snapchat.
